Snare91.92 Part III

Thought I’d grace the Curious People website with one of my Snare91.92 mixes. As the name suggests these feature killer tracks from the 1991-1992 Underground House era. I’ve tried to put a soulful tribal vibe on this one, with loads of skipping snares, very typical of the time!! A lot of the independent labels listed below, mostly from New York were consistently putting out high quality upfront house music. Emotive being one of the best, but not as well known as the more popular labels like Strictly Rhythm and Nu groove. Part one and part two of this series, which can be found at the link below, have featured some of the more well known tunes and producers, part three however includes some of the more underground tracks and not so well known b side mixes that got tucked away or overlooked. My favorite here, being the long mix of Burning by M.K. This originally only appeared on the limited edition Area 10 red vinyl copy. I love this mix and have constantly played since I bought it way back in 1992. It’s amazing to think that these tracks are now over twenty years old. I personally think they still sound fresh with a very distinctive sound.

This mix is dedicated to Scat Gardnos… King of the B side dubs back in the day… C’mon!
