After our last party with Sean Johnston we are back again at The Horse and Groom with our long time friend Frank Tope.

Frank will be supported by Curious People’s residents supplying their usual eclectic selection of classic house and disco with their favorite 303 sounds. Beards and glasses are not compulsory.

From illegal afterhours blues dances in Brixton to living it up at Space in Ibiza, Frank Tope has spent the last decade rocking dancefloors across London and now the world with a freestyle mix of electric boogie that blends the thump of dirty jacking house with everything from edgy electro and techno to cutting edge r&b, heavyweight funk, dusty disco classics and frenzied Latin percussion.

Starting Brixton’s Rooty parties in 2000 with like minded mates Basement Jaxx and Tayo, Frank moved to the headline slot, rocking crowds with raw jacking house, distressing rap acapellas and wilfully abusing sound effects along the way. In 2002 they took the Rooty experience to Sundays at Space in Ibiza, rocking the terrace of the famous club, with Frank and Tayo impressing enough to return twice in 2003 as well as playing the UK’s Homelands Festival (a set broadcast on BBC Radio 1) and Creamfields Argentina, while his late night Hidden Disco sessions at Bestival have been inspired a whole new generation of ravers with a mix from minimal house to wonky Italian disco via full on gospel anthems.

Inspired by the jacking spirit of heroes like Theo Parish, Harvey and house godfather Ron Hardy, Frank is on a mission to save house music from boredom with a fiercely energetic style, mixing the best of modern electronic house with old skool chicago jack trax and leftfield disco, throwing in music from across an immense record collection and combining heavyweight basslines and Latin percussion with enough of his trademark acapella vocals and dubbed-out sound FX to turn any club into a party and any dancefloor into a mass of smiling girls with their hands in the air.
